How beautiful and cool is this vintage musical teapot from Lefton China? I think it’s divine! As you pick it up it plays a soft, piano melody and it stops as you put it back down. Just dreamy, I tell you!
It was made by Lefton China in Japan sometime between 1952 and 1970. It is a beautiful hand painted porcelain teapot with a pink rose pattern and gold scrolls and trim. The pot measures approx. 7” tall with the lid on and approx. 9 ½” spout to handle.
The marking on the bottom indicates that it was manufactured in Japan sometime between 1952 and 1970, before Lefton moved its manufacturing from Japan to Taiwan and Malaysia. This is a great collectible and a lovely addition to one’s shabby chic or cottage style collection. The teapot has sustained the test of time wonderfully with no chips and cracks. As I write this post the pot is available for sale for $32 in my Esty store here for those interested. It makes a great housewarming gift!
